“On a road trip with my son, I got a new listing alert on a Zillow search. We were several hundred miles away and decided to detour to see if we could get in to see the property. The first Michell had ever heard from me was when I cold called her to tell her we were driving that way and to ask if she could get us a showing. She jumped through hoops to make that happen - something that was amazing, given how we connected. and with next to zero lead time. I didn’t end up buying that house, but I travelled back to the area and she showed me a number of other properties. I had sent her a few listings as examples - she took those, added to them and made my several days in the area great. I ended up making an offer during that visit. Michelle is fantastic - she REALLY knows the area; was great at sharing her pro and con knowledge of the area to help me narrow the search; was quickly able to get an understanding of my wants; arranged several meetings with local residents to share their insights; kept me on track with all my action items during the buy/close process; AND was just a plain hoot to be with! “We look for a few things in a real estate agent~someone who is “WYSIWYG” (What You See Is What You Get), someone who can make the process fun (not laborious), and someone who will respect our cap on price. We were fortunate to find all three in Michelle Burns. We met Michelle while casually seeing properties in Crested Butte, not at all sure if this would be a fit for us. Michelle’s availability and engagement with us when we were “Just looking at the market” was no different as we became serious. She worked just as hard from beginning to end. It is critical for us to find an agent that will not only represent our interests, but is able to emulate our approach to negotiation.
